Course Description

What is UI, and what is UX ?

UI (User Interface) is the high fidelity graphic design of the web, mobile or desktop application. This consist of the layout, font family, images, colors etc. This is what a typical graphic designer is used to. UX (User eXperience) on the hand is THE FLOW of how end-users use your app/product. UX seeks the answer questions such as:

  • Is the user onboarding process smooth and straight forward ?
  • Is the product user-friendly ?
  • Are the main features easy to identify and execute ?
  • Is the navigation cluttered or simple ?
  • Does the progressive screens connect seemlessly ?
  • So on and so forth.

So while UI is concerned about beauty, UX is concerned about ease of use. A right balance of both of UI and UX, combined with a robust backend engineering will drive high conversion and overall product success. Of course, this course has nothing to do with the backend, it is all about crafting amazing UI/UX graphic designs for web and mobile apps.

User Interface (UI) is the graphical layout of an application. UI designers create the look and feel of an application’s user interface, which includes, but not limited to, screen layouts, transitions, interface animations, and every single micro-interaction. The User Experience (UX) of an application is determined by how easy or difficult it is to interact with the user interface elements that the UI designers have created.

User interface and user experience design are in great demand in both Nigeria and abroad. They're applicable across a wide range of industries. With customer experience being the centerfold of product marketing, companies are focussing more on improving the interface that their customers have access to. By conceiving the branding, design, utilization, and function of a product, UX designers set the tone of its user experience. It is about creating a product that meets the needs of the users and minimizes or rather eliminates inconsistencies and glitches.
